Axel and his twin brother were born just outside Albion woods in a cave, his mother was a wild woman who knew not the words of civilized men. She had been dumped there by her kin when she was just a baby so spent most her time running around in the woods as a pup, for you see she was wear wolf, her mother had been taken in the night by a wild beast only to be returned pregnant and brutally beaten. Now it is not said that all wear beasts are unruly but the wear wolf that had her was a truly evil beast. When the boys mother was born she came out and went straight into a bag much to the distress of her mother who wanted to love her dearly no matter what she was but the man to whom she was married looked upon the baby girl with disgust and hate in is heart for the tiny creature. So she was taken out to the forest and left on her own where a pack of wild dogs took her in noticing her as one of their own.
She was now much older and in control of her own body so she could shift any time she chose. One particular day she was in human form and bathing in a stream close to her home, when a stranger wondered past, she had never seen a man up close before and was very curious as why he was taking the strange cloth he wore off from around his body. Nine months later she gave birth to twins.
Knowing she could not take care of the baby boys she took them into the town where she could see plenty of women wondering around with there own small children so she felt safe in the knowledge that what she was doing was the right thing. She may have been a savage but she was not stupid. She left the boy's outside the local Blacksmiths and never returned.
Axel and Anvil grew up together and are very rarely seen apart. it was seen very quickly that Axel was the kind and gentile boy and Anvil was evil and nasty to others. so as they grew they drifted apart but still stay quite close to each other.
Axel works in the brothel as the bar and door man while Anvil lingers around waiting to part a fool and his purse.
