SUMMER 2009

Thunder sounded and lighting flashed as the hard rain fell on the Tower of Combined Sorcery. The head Mages and Warlocks of the North and South of Air, Earth, Fire and Water sat in the ancient great hall empty these last 1000 years.

The ancient hands of an elf who had lived longer than any elf had the right to read from the scroll:

"The Storm is comming, the Shadows are stirring, the Sorcery is failing, only the Halfing stands between the world and oblivion will he have the stomach to save us all"

This adventure will be aimed at beginning level characters starting from scratch. I do not mind converting starter characters from other systems and will give you as similar abilities as possible. I recommend this to all of our new players.

Experienced Players: I do not mind you playing new ones as well, however I do need a really good monster team for this one. I do not want to give anything away but monsters will need to bring furs, browns and greens for one group of monsters and Tatty, ripped and torn clothing for the second set of monsters plus I need about six major NPCs.

If you are interested please sign up as soon as possible. New Players to the system will get a £5 discount so they will only have to pay £15. We are having an interlude part way through on the Saturday however this will all be built into the plot.

The Mayer of Kemp has anounced that after carefull consideration and with much debate the City Council of Kept has agreed to re-enstate the Kings Rangers. The first batch of recruits are to be called from all corners of society and are requested to attend the recently rediscovered and cleared Ranger Training Station north of Kempt.

Let it also be known the High Mage of the Honourable Guild of Wizards & Warlocks of Kemp has made it known he will be attending these would be Rangers and giving them a mission worthy of their name.

His Most Honrable Sir, the Mayor of Kemp

_____________________________________________________________

This event will see the few people with links to the original Kings Rangers (An Elite group of Heroes whose loyalty could not be bought and whose skill was unsurpased) calling the good people of Kemp to send fourth a new batch of would be heroes to see if they can become Kings Rangers.

The weekend will involve Friday Knight and Saturday afternoon/evening training where would be candidates will be trained on Strength & Endurance, Skill and Agility and Intelligence and Wisdom, during the day on Saturday they will be tested in the arean before the peasents and freeman of Tilia on the Pond east of Kemp. Then late Saturday evening they will go before the Rangers and be given their final interview.

On the Sunday they will be given a mission where they must d a Job for the High mage of Kemp. The mission will not be easy, and the traniies most certianly will not like it and I suspect it will not be quick!

So come one, come all this is your chance to shine.
Greetings one and all,

The King Rangers have successfully completed their first annual recruitment since the King Vanished (may he or his heir return soon). On the orders of Captain Travis one of the few original Kings Rangers remaining I Sergeant Gant gathered at the Old Training out post in the hills with Sergeant Gail, Corporal Payne and Corporal Dox in preparation to test our new comers.

We had little time to wait.

Our applicants in Group I where Hamish of the Mountain people, Odinson of the Iron Island Barbarians, Pug the Slippery a man with bare morals, Brother Peter of the Church of Lotrac, Lightfoot the boar beastman, Mogarmy the Tiger beastman and Tilla the ferret beastman. We would latter be joined by Byion.

In Group II we had Alpha a Warrior of the Southlands, Turk a street fighter from Pervesfleet bay, Handle the Orc, Valcore the Swift , Sill of Braylin, Osskar the freebooter, Black Gerald and Hissk the Lizardman.

The last group, Group III where also made of nine fine individuals, Gen the White, Topac of Husk, Symon Oakenwood, Tomas Stickyfingers, Tee of Leaf, Sam D’lite, Iwas One-ear, Portly Swift and Kage

I will not bore you all with the details of our training and testing regime as these are secrets we would rather keep to ourselves however after a hard two days I am proud to say that all of Group I made it through with the following distinctions.
Hamish was made group lance corporal, Pug has been sent to Accusations and Brother Peter has been made Chaplin. They will form Red Company (Also Known a Blood Company)

Unfortunately Group II did not fare as well Black Gerlad graduated but was slain on first mission defending fallen companion. Ossker and Turk both failed the Bravery test as well as scoring lowly on other parts of the mission. Turk however has been asked to reapply next year.

Group III did well and all but Topac of Husk made it, however, , Symon Oakenwood, Tomas Stickyfingers, Tee of Leaf, Sam D’lite, Iwas One-ear, and where killed on their first mission. Portly Swift carried three of his fallen friend’s home even though wounded. Gen the White used her magic to keep her remaining companions alive and Kage was directly responsible for the deaths of those who had slain his friends.

The two groups have been merged to form Orange Company (Fire Company) and will be led by Lance Corporal Portly Swift, joining him are Gen the White, Kage, Alpha, Handle the Orc, Valcore the Swift , Sill of Braylin as Chaplin, and Hissk the Lizardman.

Let it be known far and wide the Kings Rangers are back, spread the word,

Sergeant Gant
