The fields were filled with bodies of humans, a great battle had taken place with all the rival clans of the north. There he stood among the dead, axe in one hand and sword in the other. Stahven, the son of a low-class fighter had taken part in his first battle and found that battle is not glorious to those who don't matter to the higher class people of his clan, to them he was only a soldier who had no choice but to fight and die for a cause not his own.
"Stahven, lets go home i'm hungry" said Stahvens friend and fellow clan member Draconis Nevyn who he trusted most out of all people when it came to friendship. The two warriors set off home to catch the last of the evening feast, after all they had just won a great victory and felt the need to celebrate, but not Stahven he had no reason to celebrate the clans victory for he had not earned the right to celebrate because only those who the Noble thought performed with great expertise in the battle were allowed to celebrate and Stahvens name was never called from the list of the whole army that remained. Stahven just stayed out of the feasting tent, on his own when, suddenly a large commotion had happned at the chiefs tent, His daughter Kerys, who Stahven secretly loved was being taken by their rival clan, Stahven raced into the feast tent shouting. "Help!, My lord, your daughter is bieng kid-napped by our rivals!, we must go and save her!". The chief looked and said, "And you expect me to listen to your lies!?...get out of my tent you low -class scum!!!!". it was true, no-one would listen to a low-class who had just took part in his first battle.
Stahven left the tent and said to himself "if you will do nothing for her, I WILL!" and he gathered his sword and axe as well as his travelling gear, Stahven was born a warrior so he would not die out in the wild. He set off after everyone was asleep, it was forbidden for low-classes to be outside the settlement at night. so when everyone was asleep he sneeked through the darkness his shape blending into the darkness like a shadow. Stahven soon discoverd he had a problem, the town watchman was still awake and as watchful as a hawk, Stahven had to get past him somehow, he couldn't kill him it would give a bad sign to his honor. Stahven took his sword from its scabbard and struck a glancing blow on the back of the guards head, the guard fell to the ground with a groan. Luckily Stahven had only knocked the guard unconcious and there was no real injury to worry about. Stahven had made it out of his settlement.
Early that morning, Draconis awoke to find that Stahven had left and whent straight for the chief. "My lord, Stahven has left the village with all his weaponry and the town guard was found unconcious and i am sorry to say sir but......your daughter is also missing." The chief rose from his seat and shouted. "MY DAUGHTER IS MISSING!!!!?" his voice was so loud that the whole settlement could have heard it. The chief summoned the whole settlement to the town square to tell them about his daughter and Stahven. it was soon decided that Stahven was to be announced a traitor and be killed on sight for they suspect that he had kidnapped Kerys, for the chief knew about Stahvens feelings for Kerys and so suspected that because the chief shouted at him this was his way of getting revenge. But this was not so. (to be continued)
