The fields were filled with bodies of humans, a great battle had taken place with all the rival clans of the north. There he stood among the dead, axe in one hand and sword in the other. Stahven, the son of a low-class fighter had taken part in his first battle and found that battle is not glorious to those who don't matter to the higher class people of his clan, to them he was only a soldier who had no choice but to fight and die for a cause not his own.

"Stahven, lets go home i'm hungry" said Stahvens friend and fellow clan member Draconis Nevyn who he trusted most out of all people when it came to friendship. The two warriors set off home to catch the last of the evening feast, after all they had just won a great victory and felt the need to celebrate, but not Stahven he had no reason to celebrate the clans victory for he had not earned the right to celebrate because only those who the Noble thought performed with great expertise in the battle were allowed to celebrate and Stahvens name was never called from the list of the whole army that remained. Stahven just stayed out of the feasting tent, on his own when, suddenly a large commotion had happned at the chiefs tent, His daughter Kerys, who Stahven secretly loved was being taken by their rival clan, Stahven raced into the feast tent shouting. "Help!, My lord, your daughter is bieng kid-napped by our rivals!, we must go and save her!". The chief looked and said, "And you expect me to listen to your lies!?...get out of my tent you low -class scum!!!!". it was true, no-one would listen to a low-class who had just took part in his first battle.

Stahven left the tent and said to himself "if you will do nothing for her, I WILL!" and he gathered his sword and axe as well as his travelling gear, Stahven was born a warrior so he would not die out in the wild. He set off after everyone was asleep, it was forbidden for low-classes to be outside the settlement at night. so when everyone was asleep he sneeked through the darkness his shape blending into the darkness like a shadow. Stahven soon discoverd he had a problem, the town watchman was still awake and as watchful as a hawk, Stahven had to get past him somehow, he couldn't kill him it would give a bad sign to his honor. Stahven took his sword from its scabbard and struck a glancing blow on the back of the guards head, the guard fell to the ground with a groan. Luckily Stahven had only knocked the guard unconcious and there was no real injury to worry about. Stahven had made it out of his settlement.

Early that morning, Draconis awoke to find that Stahven had left and whent straight for the chief. "My lord, Stahven has left the village with all his weaponry and the town guard was found unconcious and i am sorry to say sir but......your daughter is also missing." The chief rose from his seat and shouted. "MY DAUGHTER IS MISSING!!!!?" his voice was so loud that the whole settlement could have heard it. The chief summoned the whole settlement to the town square to tell them about his daughter and Stahven. it was soon decided that Stahven was to be announced a traitor and be killed on sight for they suspect that he had kidnapped Kerys, for the chief knew about Stahvens feelings for Kerys and so suspected that because the chief shouted at him this was his way of getting revenge. But this was not so. (to be continued)
After travelling on the road for a few weeks Stahven had made it far out from the area he knew, but he knew where he was going for he was tracking the trails of those that had stolen his love and from the looks of things they had ventured into another part of the north that Stahven had never been before. After a long day of tracking Stahven sought refuge in a ruined but stable fort which others just like it seemed to litter the area, as Stahve set up for the night he suddenly got the feeling that he was getting watched by something sinister, Stahven stood up, sword and axe at the ready, but nothing could prepare him for what hit him, he suddenly felt a pain in his stomach but could not figure out what had struck him it seemed that whatever struck him must have moved like lightning, so Stahven forgot his sense of sight and concentrated on his hearing, if he couldn't see him then he would most certainly hear him coming again. "Come and get me!" Stahven shouted to see if whatever it was that struck him would come out, it did.

Stahven saw before him a large person of about 7'0 in height and Stahven was only a shrimp compared to this giant of a warrior "You want to fight me?" said the unknown warrior with a haughty laugh in his voice. "well if you pose a threat to me and my goal then i will have no choice" Stahven stood his ground and tried to measure his foe for any signs of weakness but he could not find any. The warrior charged, his massive warhammer swinging with great strength that he leveled a pillar which was made of solid rock. Stahven could only stand in awe to this amazing power of strength, the giant swung again but could not land a hit in Stahven for he was so small and the giant was not used to fighting others smaller than himself. Stahven soon found a weakness in the giant, his swing was too long for him to possibly react to any attack that Stahven could come up with. Stahven dodged the giants next attempt of a hit and swung his sword into the giants arms and forced him to drop his warhammer. The giant realising he was dealing with a witty opponent took out his bastard sword that was placed in his back scabbard and swung it at Stahven.

Stahven blocked his blow and counter-attacked with his own blow but as the battle heated up the two warriors matched eachother blow for blow. "ugh!, your relentless...looks like i'll have to go all out". (to be continued)
As the two warriors faced eachother, both waiting on who would make the first move, Stahven felt a sudden pressence in the bushes surrounding the old fort. Stahven walked slowly towards the bush keeping an eye on the giant at all times in case he would make a move.

When Stahven looked into the bush using his sword to see if anyone was in there, his sword touched something that was metal and Stahven grabbed whatever it was and dragged it out of the bush and placed his sword at its throat. The unknown creature spoke "Whoa!, Stahven its me, Draconis!" when Stahven realised who he had in front of him he let him up and said "Draconis, what are you doing here?". But ther was no time for answers because as they were speaking the giant was moving ever closer "I think the answers would have to wait Stahven" Draconis said drawing a bastard sword of his own to join Stahven in his fight. When the giant realised he had two opponents to fight he tried a charge at Draconis and although he knocked Draconis to the floor he was unable to finish him as Stahven was giving him some hard pressureised attacks and was not giving the giant a chance to get to Draconis. The giant now focused his attention on Stahven and gave Stahven a big club with his giant hands that sent Stahven flying into a bunch of fallen ruins and Stahven did not seem to move after this. (to be continued)
When Stahven woke a few hours later he found that the giant was dead and picked up his sword and hit Draconis on the head with its pommel. "OW!" Shouted Draconis.
"oh, thank the Dragon lord, it's you" breathed Stahven,
"well, who did you think it was?" asked Draconis who was now gripping his head and cursing under his breath.
"well, i don't know, some kind of feind?" Stahven said.
Draconis spoke "look nothing that exists can make a face as good looking as mine, same with my voice". Both warriors fell around laughing at this somewhat joke as they were letting off steam from the fight they just fought. But then Draconis Draconis told Stahven to stop as he heard footsteps coming from across the moore. The intruder who was trying to be stealthy was not doing particurly well was an eagle warrior from the eagle clan. An extremelly well built but average heighted man with a large beard and a battle axe across his back was walking towards them, obviously drawn by the smell of the fire,
"who's here?......, come out, come out wherever you are....., you are tresspassing on the eagle claw's land......., please show yourself, so i can rip you to pieces, i promise if you come out now, i'll make your death quick and painless!". Stahven and Draconis echanged looks at one another both with fear in their eyes as they both knew that the eagle claw clan members were notorious for their cruel selfless and unreasonable killing of innocents.
Stahven started to draw his sword.
"don't" whispered Draconis, recieving an astonished glance from Stahven, Draconis blew into his hands, and there seemed to be a light coming from within them and then Stahven noticed that there was flames in Draconis' hands, he gasped, drawing the attention of the Eagle Claw, who could now see them clearly, because of the flames, Draconis whispered to the flames "go, now!" and th next thing he saw was the man screaming in pain as flames consumed him, Stahven looked down to congradulate Draconis but he had fainted from the energy the spell had taken. After Draconis had woken and kept a watch Stahven woke to take his turn on watch and as he was watching the darkness, well he was concentrating on sound rather than sight. But soon realised that ther was nothing out there that night and slept the rest of the night away. where he dreamed a dream of himself in a bitter battle between him and the chief of the clan, his love kerys was watching from the chiefs hut whiched seemed to be sealed off to Stahven. As the dream unfolded he and the chief were fighting hard. The chief was fighting for a false revenge against Stahven, But Stahven was fighting for not only his love...but for his very survival. After he woke the next morning he looked around for Draconis but he was no-where to be seen. So after packing up the rest of the stuff and dowsing out the flames and covering up any signs of him being there he set off on Draconises trail. Tracking Draconis was more difficult than tracking any other warrior, But after a few hours he finnaly found him in some low scrub. Stahven crawled over to Draconis and said "what the hell are you doing all the way out here!?". Draconis explained how he went out on a morning stroll when he saw a large band of Warriors escorting a prison column among the prisoners was kerys. Stahven saw her and was about to leap out and charge straight in to the column but Draconis cought him and pulled him down into cover again. "No!, we can't attack that colum now, lets just follow and find out where they are going". Stahven, now red in the face at being so close to his goal but watching it escape away from him, agreed to what Draconis was saying. "very well, but the kidnapper is mine" Stahven whispered. After the column had gone over a ridge Stahven and Draconis started to track they're unsuspecting foe, sticking to the bushes and scrub as they went. After a few hours of tracking they ran into a band of warriors. "who are you!?" said one of the warriors who aimed his bow in Stahven and Draconises directions. "I am Stahven and this is my friend Draconis" Stahven answered the challange, "i have heard about you two, you two are outcasts from the border clan". The warrior said looking Stahven in the eye. "how did you know that?" Stahven asked. "what?...you don't recognise me?" the warrior said. (to be continued)
