After the current set of games come to an end I am offering a supers game.

IMPORTANT: This being offered after the current games, Gary's AFF is continuing, though after the current adventure to secure one of the 13th Spells of Darkness is completed, players will be given the opportunity to switch games. If Wayne's game is still running at this point I will be waiting until Wayne wishes to take a break - there will be no player poaching!

Gate City

This is a low to mid power level M&M (Mutants & Masterminds) game set in a slightly altered slight future Earth. The year is 2012 and supers have been in existance for most of the 20th Century.

30th June 1908: The Day the Earth Shook: Part of a comet entered the Earth's atmosphere and exploded over Russia releasing cosmic energy and dust. This energy and dust mutated a small percentage of the population. Those alive at the time became peaked, at the height of human potential, those born after, especially those born to two mutated parents went further and began displaying true super human abilities.

These became to world notice during WWII, their potential was realised and all othe major players began to run super soldier programmes, trying to capture and control the mutations.

Your characters are the current generation of mutants. The golden days of when mutants were seen as humanity's hope and future are over. These days you are seen at best as necessary evils to combat the presence of super villians, at worst as potential WMDs.

The UK joined the EU, but following the rise of UKNP (United Kingdom National Party) it withdrew. Following the 2010 elections the UKNP is the minor party in a hung parliament.

Things have not gone well for the UK since the exit from the EU, the darkest day came in 2007 a day known as U Day (or Usurper Day) when a powerful mutant attempted to take control of the UK, killing the Queen and Prince Charles in the process. Other than the two state mutant groups, all mutants are registerred and monitored. Failure to do so means you are treated as a criminal and possible terrorist.

Only Gate City is the exception, Gate City is a refuge for mutants and foreigners alike, it is also a dingy and maligned corrupt city that the rest of the UK would like to see sink completely into the Thames.

Created in 1997 Gate City is formed from the towns on the northern banks of the Estuary from Tilbury to Southend. Meant to be a shining light of Labour's progress, it's glory days never came. Since 2007 it has been governed by the mutant known as Seaxe and is regarded as a semi-autonomous free state.

It also holds the Fortress a prison which holds the captured mutant criminals, including the comatose Usurper. The Fortress is controlled by the mysterious Gate Keeper, who turned up on U Day and stopped the Usurper.

As the campaign starts on 5th January 2012, all the major heroes of the world have been called to Kyzgstan to deal with the world wide threat of the Autarch and his henchman the Tinker.

The players are the minor leaguers left behind, when they receive a call from the Gate Keeper.

Those wishing to play, please let me know and details of what type of super you wish to play. Please give me as much details as possible, so I can make the character as close to your idea as possible.
Sounds pretty rocking, I'd be delighted to play but i've got my teeth into the COTH at present.

I'm rather torn though.

None the less, i'm sure it will be rockin'!
i am playing. Looking forward to it very much. mwhahahahahaha.......
Just to clarify the origins limitations:

Mutants – Those who have personal and obvious powers, think X-Men and large chunks of the DC Universe.

Costumed Heroes – Those who have reached the Peak of human excellence, think Batman and Nick Fury.

Technology – Those using devices that mimic superpowers, including power armours, think Iron Man.

Accidents – Though technically latent mutants, the powers can be set off by an accident, think Spiderman.

Psionics – Mutants, think Professor X.

Not allowed

Magic and Aliens (at the start anyway).
Well I have three confirmed, so there are at least three places still open.

From speaking with people it seems that I may have confused matters with description of low to middle power. I am not suggesting Heroes level here, you can have more than one/two powers. For power level think, New Mutants rather than X-Men, Teen Titans rather than JLA, Green Arrow rather than Superman and Nightwing rather than Batman (though at the moment Dick Grayson - Nightwing - is Batman).

Your group is made up of First Division heroes rather than Premier League, either those who have not hit the big time or those who were big leaguers but whose time has for the moment at least past.

The campaign starts with most of the big leaguers out of the picture due to a Final Crisis/Civil War sized event, your characters are going to step into the breach to protect the citizens of Gate City. If you do things right then you may well end up in the top ranks.

Style wise this is a modern (Electrum Age) game, four colour Silver Age heroes with modern sensibilities, anyone reading current comics should get the style. M&M has two styles of combat, this campaign assumes in the main non-lethal combat, both heroes and villians with be beating each other into submission rather than going for the kill. Lethal combat is always an option and players can state at any point that they are going for lethal damage, at some points the villians (especially specific enemies) definitely will be. Be warned any player using lethal combat too often will not be picking up hero points (M&M's get out of jail, do something fantastic points) and the general public opinion will drop, even if you do it away from the general public!
Right my game is pretty much full now, my players are:

Tom
Wayne
Martin
Faisil (apologies for the spelling)
Joshua
Sam B
Chris

At a push I can take one more player, but only at a push.

Due to player movement I know Gary has at least two places free and there is also Rob’s game.
I would like to play a suave, sophisticated, good looking gentleman, late twenties, wearing a white suit, black shirt and red tie, with a gambling habit, a working knowledge of personal firearms and powers as close as you can get to these:

Probability manipulation.
The ability to alter probability, causing unlikely things to happen or likely things to not happen.

Foresight
Can see in his mind everything that will happen to himself and in his immediate surroundings a few seconds ahead of time.

If you need to change things, or his too powerful for what you have in mind just say.

Chris
Chris, that is all cool - very cool indeed actually!
