When the Wardens meet:
Our heroes are called to the Fortress, Gate City’s mutant prison, by the mysterious Gatekeeper and invited to join his new Secret Wardens. At first the individual characters of these lone vigilantes makes it seem as though the success of the group may be in jeopardy even before their mission starts. Worse the flamboyant Overspeed misses the meeting and is only met when William Baxter suggests that the heroes retire to the World’s End. While there the Wardens realise that they are being watched, only to discover that their observer is Nicholas D’Anger the former spymaster and head of ROD. It seems powerful people are waiting to see if the UK’s newest mutant group succeeds or fails.
The Wardens have little time to get settled into their new headquarters, meeting their computer assistant Coalhouse, when Night Hunter gets a tip of someone is going to raid a warehouse owned by KoH Logistics. Our heroes swing into action, investigating the warehouse and who may be behind the audacious attack. Overspeed spots the infamous Spring Heel Jack entering the warehouse and the Wardens leap into action. Image teleports the rest of the team on to the warehouse’s roof, while Overspeed disables the villains get away vehicle.
Overspeed discovers the Cohort: Pyro, Blood Flower, Crunch, DeadEye and a mysterious fifth member holding up the warehouse workers, while Blood Flower is opening a crate. Just as Overspeed discovers the Cohort, Spring Heel Jack appears whipping off his top hat, smiling as he says “Greetings gentleman, shall play this game!”
