POSTONMENT OF MOUNT EDGCUMBE EVENT
It is with deep regret that the Mount Edgcumbe Bandits, Brigands & Buccaneers has had to be postponed until the Late May Bank Holiday 2012. - You might well ask why given its great success last year? Well to sustain a business such as this we need at least four events over which to spread the costs and make a profit, or some other form of income, especially in these uncertain economic times. We have been waiting on decisions from a number of areas to see if more events could be scheduled and if other related work could be booked.
Over the last two years, through the development of Bandits, Brigands & Buccaneers, I have neglected my other businesses. Since December I have been refocusing on these so that next year there will be other revenues contributing to the whole.
This is one of the reasons why the website has not been updated and the others are that, without decisions, we would have just been publishing rumour and conjecture.
Mount Edgcumbe, will happen next year, Fort Amherst is doubtful, as whilst the event was great for participants as a whole, the sites many levels made it difficult for us to manage the public. Also, some of the re-enactors at the lower levels felt isolated from the main areas of entertainment and plot; venue management has changed; and the new building/bridge/access works may well affect things. The pictures from Fort Amherst will go up on the website and
many of the game ideas used there will be deployed at Mount Edgcumbe in 2012.
The website will be continually updated and we will now be taking registrations. Bandits, Brigands & Buccaneers has always evolved and improved with each event and with the postponement to 2012 you can be assured that it will be even bigger and better than any before.
