The bridge was full of activity as officers and ratings doubled across the cathedral like expanse to their stations on the carefully orchestrated organised chaos known only to fighting men and women prepairing to do battle. On the central nave peace ruled as the Captain gave quiet orders to the first officer who bellowed them out across the bridge from the command pulpit.
Francis and Suzannah stood slightly behind and to one side of the Captain's command throne. He could feel the vibrations of the ship increase through the soles of his combat boots on the mesh decking.
"Torpedoes ready!"
"Port gun-decks ready!"
"Starboard gun-decks ready!"
"plasma-lances ready!"
"Lancers at their stations!"
"Attack craft ready for launch!"
"Engines ready!"
The flag-lieutenant turned to his captain,
"Ship ready for combat lord-captain, sword squadron report ready for action and in position to guard our stern"
"Thank you Mr. Ulanti, what state is the enemy?" the first officer turned to his console as readouts from the sensorium sent him their data across steam powered arcs relays.
"Two dark-cruisers, Devastator class and four reaver class destroyers. We are outnumbered and outgunned." Francis 'hmphed' under his breath earning him a glare from the first officer
"You have an opinion Father?"
"On many things Flag-Lieutenant Ulanti, but in this case there is only one thing that matters at all. Before us lie the arch-enemies of mankind, the dread spawn of the dark symetry. Even now fleets and armies from the corporations and even a doom-trooper assault barge is comming into the system. And we are the guardians of humanity, we are the brotherhood and we will purge their foul taint from the skies of mankind. And then... then we will cleanse the moon and return what was once mans back to fold."
"Pretty speech Father, but words dont win battles and we are still outnumbered"
"We are never outnumbered, never outgunned. We never retreat, never surrender. We are the Brotherhood and in the High Lords name and in the authority of the chronicles we will conquer!"
"I hope your right Father, but I must suggest captain that we wait for the rest of the corporations to enter the system."
"No Mr. Ulanti, the good Father is right. We will cleanse this filth right now without delay." The captain flicked a switch on the arm of his command throne.
"All hands! All hands to make ready for battle!," he flicked the switch off again, "engines to full, gun-captains to prepare for double broadside, firing as we bear. Master of ordinance, launch your fighters and prepare bomber wings. Get me torpedos locked on target." the crew of the bridge sprang into action.

+Nice speech, I just hope it is worth the deaths+

Hi all,

Gone real silent on the Arcanium Society front, I apologise for this. I do want to continue the Knights of Purity story arc to it's end at least though and probably some specials too (with Gary's blessing). I am, however, unsure of it's future using the BRP rules however, and don't think it works for the setting. I know this'll mean changing the rules again but I think I've found the perfect system for it - HeroQuest.

For those who are not familiar with HeroQuest, the character sheet is literally your character bio and a list of skills that you create (that's right, you make up the skills for your character). It's simple, easy to understand and allows complete freedom concerning abilities etc.

I haven't thought too much on this yet, but I am thinking that characters have a points value that relate to how long they've been around, so the oldest characters (the ones played by Gary, Paul, Dave, Wayne etc.) get a big boost to skill values, the "current gen" characters who have been active recently (the ones played by myself, Max, Troy, Sam, Chris, Alex, James etc.) get a fair boost to their skills and any new characters start off with the basic.

Comments and criticisms, as always, are welcome.
At our last meeting you saw how my condition deterioated as the weekend progressed. You heard of the possible solution to this; the time will soon be at hand.

No less than 3 days before the moon reaches it full we must attempt to gather the herb for this is when it is at its most potent.

I propose to gather on the 11th day of the next cycle (Friday 20th August) and travel at night to reach our target. Thus allowing a full day to achieve our goal.
If you are willing and able say now.

I used to love coming to this cabin when I was a child. But something's different now. The woods seem dark, unpleasant. It's probably my imagination. I've not felt good since Joanne. Id hoped the trip to the cabin would make me feel better. I felt like I was been watched as I gathered fire wood. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up and I looked round. There was nothing there. Then I thought I saw something, out off the corner of my eye. But again when I looked I could see nothing. After gathering the wood I returned to the cabin and made dinner.

As night fell a thick fog covered the forest. Looking out the windows I couldn't see more than a foot. It was cold and dark and I decided to go to bed early. I failed to notice the absence of animal noises, it didn't even register. I was tired and exhausted after a week of hell and just wanted to sleep. I was woken just past midnight by scratching at the windows. I tried to ignore it, figuring it was just the trees. But it continued. In the end I went to the window and drew back the curtain. There wasn't anything, just the thick white fog. I closed the curtains again and went back to bed. The scratching continued. This time I ignored it and put ear plugs in. After that I feel asleep

The next day when I went outside I couldn't believe what I saw. The walls of the cabin were covered in deep scratch marks, like they had been attacked by the claws of a bear. Worse of all, the tyres to my car had been punctured. I called my brother on my mobile and told him an animal had attacked the car. He said he would be with me within an hour. An hour past and he never came. I called him but it wasn't him who answered. A voice, rasping and unfamiliar laughed at me. "He's not coming jack" it hissed and the phone went dead. I dropped the phone and feelingly like I was been watched again I spun round. It was standing there, not more than a foot from me. I screamed and fell over. Skin all drawn and pale, teeth jagged and yellow and wide open eyes, white and filmy. It looked like a corpse, except it was walking, talking. "Hello Jack" it hissed and leaned over, clawed hands outstretched. I curled into a ball, covering my face and screamed. I don't know how long I lay like that but when I looked I was alone. It started to rain and the wind picked up so I ran into the cabin and locked all the doors and windows. I was so scared I pushed as much furniture over the windows and against the doors as I could. Then I lit the fire least it try and get in through the chimney.

I didn't sleep well that night. Every time I closed my eyes I saw its face and head its voice. But it never came. The next day I pulled the door open as a car pulled up. It was my brother Doug. I hugged him, shaking. As he drove me to town I told him of what happened. He laughed at me and when I turned to him to tell him off, I screamed. It wasn't Doug. It was that creature "Your going to die Jack, like poor Joanne died" it hissed and turned the wheel. The last thing I saw and heard before it all went black was the creature laughing

When I awoke I was in hospital. The police told me Doug had blown a tyre and the car went off the road into a gully. I was badly injured but would be ok. Doug wasn't so lucky. He had been thrown through the windscreen and impaled upon a tree branch. I told them about the thing, about my night in the cabin but they didn't believe me. Its night now. The ward is silent.

Most of the other patients are asleep. The nurse has come in. I ask her for a drink and then start screaming. It isn't the nurse. It's the thing. It's laughing at me and reaching out with those hands, those terrible clawed hands.

Well now there is a new sub-forum "Password Protected Leyline Area" which will require a password for you to enter into.

If you are given this password you MUST remember that it is CHARACTER based and therefore no other character (unless they too have been given the password) can view or post there. So for example Nevyn Swiftarrow has the password but any other character I play does not, and I will only access and read/reply to threads pertinent to Nevyn Swiftarrow.

I have created a new user called "Leyline Druids" and this is who you need to message (private or email) to have access to this forum.

Her hand ran slowly through her sweat soaked hair that lay as a half tangled mass of chestnut curls against her black clad shoulders, the winter months within the frozen north had given way swiftly to the sweltering heat of summer and although she was used to the soaring temperatures it was nothing like the humid heat to be found within Albian.

The last five months she had drawn nothing but a blank upon the subject at hand, there seemed little to no trace. But perhaps they had just been looking in the wrong area? Perhaps the information that was required was before their eyes and they could not see the wood for the trees?

Pacing slowly before the alms houses of Palace Green, the small stretch of land nestled between the safety of the castle that overlooked the winding path of the river and beneath the looming shadow of the great Dunholm Cathedral, its imposing blood-red walls casting a warning glow in the moonlight, all seemed silent for a few small short moments, save for the footfalls of members of the city guard.

She turned sharply down a shadowed path and made her way down the steep slope of Dune Cow lane, her footfalls carefull amongst the uneven cobles that lay beneath her booted feet as she seemed ever restless. A few pilgrims that lined the roads to the cathedral stopped and stepped uneasily out of the way to allow ghostly figure to pass. (Although the sight of a exorcist was not altogether uncommon in the city walls, there was at least half a dozen) it was only she that held a face truly void of any emotion and character in the smooth surface of the white painted mask that have an ethereal glow in the moonlight that peeked through the small patches of cloud.

Despite the heat she still kept the heavy cloak about her shoulders, not to keep her aching limbs warm but rather to allow her to blend in and out of the evening shadows with ease should she feel the need.
Bishop Fisher seemed to be heavily caught within church business within the last few days with the success of the scholars attached to the Cathedral it was left to herself and Father Thomas.

" stop brooding..." Guy, forever a lover of sliding in and out of the shadows as he felt necessary fell into step alongside her, picking at his back tooth after his evening meal, glancing breifly at the foodscrap before wiping it on the dark linen leg of his trousers. "....we've been waiting for an age, are you certain she is in the north? "

Her head snapped sharply in his direction, green eyes peering out of the snowy almond voids, she didn't need to say a single word to the journeyman Exorsist beside her, although he seemed clad more as a merchant of the town, but then with the market within a stones throw it would have been a far easier way to glean what little information they could.

"..alright, alright...." he had known her far too long to need to hear any word depart from her lips to know when he needed to curb his tounge around his old friend. "...you saw the order, not me.... was only askin' lass "

She shook her head slowly as they walked " they seemed to think she is up here somewhere...who ever she is....didn't exactly give much to go on...."

A small snicker escaped him as he braught a fatherly hand to pat against her spine in a rather patronising mannor. " come on....let us find Father Thomas if he's still awake at this hour..."

Hi Guys.

After trolling through youtube and looking through videos which I turn back to ocassionally in my life when I wish to consider Nostalgia or generally remember things which are corner stones in my life, I pondered if anyone else share similar songs or movie theme songs which really bring them back.

So, What I ask you is, what theme tunes / songs really bring you back when you hear them, what are your top three (In no particular order, or more than three if you want, i'm just saying as an example) if you could name them right now?

I have so many but for right now, I'd have to go with the following.

1. The Terminator theme song (terminator 1 and 2) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXQTzJgU6qc

2. Love song for a Vampire (Annie Lennox for Bram Stokers Dracula) I personally can't listen to this song without being in fits of tears.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhG8zC4npsE

3. Top Gun - Highway to the Dangerzone (as seen here) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8rZWw9HE7o

4. Berlin - Take my breath away (Top Gun) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NEOem7U2L...re=related

5. Power Rangers Theme Tune - (As we See here)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfOACVCOJsM

Seriously, as far as Power Metal goes, there's very little which can even compare to that theme song.

Anyway, so, the main question stands, what are yours? Can you think of any good ones?

I'd love to hear peoples responses, as I adore the feeling of Nostalgia.

Klytus watched the camp from the darkness of the trees. The Gypsies had been camped here for three days now and in that time theft in the local towns had gone through the roof. But that wasn't why Klytus was here. He was waiting for the Gypsies master to arrive. The camp was illuminated by the full moon and as it reached midnight a giant bat plunged out of the sky, transforming into a human form as it neared the ground. The man was tall with angular features, an almost feral look to his face and pointed ears in life he had been an elf trader of jewels and fine cloths. But for the last two decades he had been a Vampyre and now only sought pleasure and blood. The Gypsies were his thralls, bound to his will by his capture of their elder. The Vampire stood in the middle of their camp as they brought out the girls they had kidnapped from the town. The Vampire smiled and so did Klytus. He aimed his crossbow and fired. The bolt, made of pure moon silver and blessed by the priests of the benign death god struck the vampire in the eye. The eye exploded as the bolt struck it and buried itself in the creatures face. The vampire screamed in rage, clutching at the holy item that burned him. Klytus leapt from the tree and walked calmly into the gathering gypsies. With him was Magda, their elder whom Klytus had rescued but an hour before. She was weak but her iron will kept her walking. She removed her cloak so her brothers and sisters could see the marks left by the Vampires torture. Klytus Fired his crossbow again, this time at the vampire's foot. The bolt tore through the flesh and buried itself into the ground. The vampire screamed as the blessing of the priest burned his flesh. Try as he did however, he could not free himself, the bolt holding him securely to the ground. The gypsies grabbed their weapons and swarmed over him, extracting revenge for a year of pain and torment. As they did so Klytus waved at the waiting guards who freed the girls and took them back to the Town. After a few minutes the vampire stopped struggling and was destroyed. Magda turned to Klytus to thank him for her rescue but he was gone. So were the bags of jewels and coins the Gypsies had been stealing. Magda smiled to herself. Our metal hero Solid State fights along side the mysterious siren protector of Bas Vegas, White Stiletto against the battling forces of the Czar of crime and the Jones Brothers. With a mighty punch he sends one of the ring leaders flying and quickly sends the rest packing. While getting thanks from White Stiletto, the arrival of the police stops a meaningful conversation.
The next day, Nighthunter in his normal guise as the billionaire Kent with Image, disguised as his bodyguard Mr Smith go to the offices Global Britannia Paradym, meeting the CEO Paul Robertson. Our duo of heroes begin a subtle battle of wits with the potentially corrupt businessman but are ultimately stymied in their attempt to get further information.
While our investigating heroes efforts are frustrated two of the other Secret Wardens, our man of steel Solid State and the paragon of sea and air SeaHawk make startling and potentially disturbing revelations of their own. They discover that the former major shareholder of GBP is none other than Richard Harlington the Marquis of Kensington, former minister and author of the CONTROL Act! Apparently after the events of U Day Lord Kensington withdrew from public life quitting the cabinet and selling most of his shares at GBP.
Our heroes reconvene back at Coalhouse to discuss what they have and haven’t discovered. Their discussions bring up worrying possibilities for the resolute Secret Wardens, what is the connection to Lord Kensington and where is he? Could he or GBP have connections to the Dark Tinkerer? Could the Dark Tinkerer be the architect of the Crown? Just how far does this conspiracy go? The Secret Wardens are determined to discover the answer to these questions.

Fortunes favoured William Baxter discovers that Mr Stag is due to attend a party at the French Ambassador’s residence and manages to get an invite for him, Nighthawk and Image, whose shapechanging powers come to the fore again as he becomes the mysterious but beautiful Ms Smith. At the party our heroes meet the supposed playboy Stag, and over a game of cards, Mr Stag drops some unsubtle clues that confirms that he is indeed the devilish Knave of Hearts! Despite being favoured by Lady Luck herself William Baxter finds that he cannot beat the Knave of Hearts. Nighthawk becoming increasingly frustrated at the Knave of Hearts questions and comments turns to leave, only to be offered a magic trick, Mr Stag says he can guess the card that the Nighthawk has chosen. It is no surprise that the card is indeed the jack of hearts, the surprise comes when the Knave tosses Nighthawk a gold coin.

Meanwhile the investigative team of Solid State and SeaHawk make discoveries of their own at the Fortress. The pair had gone to seek the mysterious Gatekeeper’s help in contacting Sceptre, instead they get a obtuse hints that they should be asking other questions. Solid State guesses the truth just before it is revealed by the Gatekeeper, the Usurper is none other than Lord Kensington himself! A powerful psychic he place a compulsion on the four Jacks, compelling them to secure his escape, but it seems that the four Jacks are not working together.

The revelation, added by the Gatekeeper himself, brings our heroes together at the Fortress where the revelations are shared. Tired from the evenings events Nighthawk starts to return home, only for his companions to realise that the coin he was given may be placing him in terrible danger. The fastest man in Gate City rushes after him and secures the coin bringing it back to the main group. Here one last startling discovery is made, the coin has a strange residue on it. As Image begins to investigate what this residue does, the rest of the Secret Wardens ponder what new shocks are on the horizon.

More intriguing is that another of the shareholders a certain international playboy Mr Stag, has other than his interests in GBP has no other business interests. Solid State begins to wonder if Stag and the Knave of Hearts are one and the same.
This year we are hoping to hold the Yule Banquet on the evening of Saturday the 18th December.
We are hoping that reg and Alex will perform for the Banquet, we are also hoping to have some more medieval dancing.

However the biggest change is that we are hoping to have a full blown HOG roast?

If possible please can you start posting opinions regarding this now. Also let everyone know as we will also be having a ceremony that eveing as well. More details to follow soon.
