HMS is Seaxe & Sorcery's family orientated fantasy roleplay system. It welcomes all ages including families and LARP "newbies" and while it has a loose basis on history it is firmly rooted in the mythological and fantastical.
Generally we hold four main HMS events in each year as well as numerous one-day events. The four main events are held over a weekend running from Friday (usually going "time-in" at 8pm) through until Sunday ("time-out" is usually about 4pm). Occasionally the summer-holiday event may be a week-long such as the forthcoming one in 2011. As well as these four events many one-day specials are held at Langdon Hills Country Park, near Basildon.
In HMS there are four main Human distinctions:
the Kaldron (Celts)
the Vaagan (Vikings)
the Brohn (Saxon)
the Mhainites (Roman/Norman)
Recently a fifth element has arisen: the Esi. Anyone may join the Esi. They still keep their heritage but aim to take the best elements from all the races and become better and wiser for it. Orrin is the leader of the Esi.
Then there are the other races:
Kuul (the worst of the Brohn/Vaagan hybrids)
Fey/Half-Fey (Fairies in effect. Not always nice)
Elves (High-Elves; Wood-Elves; Half-Elves)
Shee (Cat-like creatures)
Goblins/Hobgoblins
Ogres
Dwarves
If you wish to come to a HMS event it is not necessary for you to create a character before hand, however if you do that would be superb! For ideas on costumes etc search the internet on your chosen race. Do not worry about getting it spot-on as it is fantasy based, not historically acurate. The four main Seaxe events are held at Cherrywood Scout Camp (see map below) while the one-dayers can be held anywhere they are generally held at Langden Hills (see second map below).
